Gilbert was born August 21, 1953 in Fort Worth, the son of J.A. and Billie Davis Gilbert. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Weatherford, where he especially enjoyed his Sunday School ministry with the children.

Williams was born January 12, 1947 in Wayne, Nebraska to Mark Williams and Dorothea Hayes. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving in both Vietnam and Japan. After retiring, he worked as a Hyperbaric & Physiology Specialist in Fort Worth. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and golf.

Lillie Mae Loggins

Lillie Mae (Brown) Loggins died, Monday, July 14, 2008, after a lengthy illness. She was 97 years of age.

Loggins was born to Andrew Jackson Brown and Mary Magdalene Harrington on September 10, 1910. She had an avid memory up to her death. She could tell many stories concerning the history of Parker County and Mena, Arkansas, where they lived in the early 1930s. She was one of the few surviving pioneers of the Peaster Community.

James Charles Mercer, 84, of Weatherford, died Sunday, July 20, 2008 in a Fort Worth hospital.

Born May 23, 1924 in Martwick, Kentucky, he was a former resident of Hereford before moving to Parker County. After serving his country as a Sergeant in the Army during World War II, Mercer went to work for the Texas Department of Transportation where he retired after 30 years. He then went on to enjoy his second career as a realtor for 10 years.

Joe Hale ShermanJoe Hale ShermanJoe Hale Sherman, 78, of Weatherford, died on Monday May 26, 2008 in the Weatherford hospital.
Born on December 7, 1929 in Ballinger, he was a resident of Parker County for many years. He was a meat cutter for Kroger in Weatherford, where he retired after 35 years of service.
Sherman was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge in Brock, and an Army Veteran, honorably discharged in 1949 and 1954, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He was a volunteer for Weatherford Regional Medical Center and Meals on Wheels.

Patsy Ruth Moss, 67, of Fort Worth, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in Bridgeport.
Born on August 6, 1940 in Fort Worth, the daughter of George and Lillian Taylor, Moss was a resident of the Fort Worth area all her life until moving to Paradise a few years ago. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Springtown and had a strong love for her dogs.
Survivors include husband, Ronald Moss; sons, Jeffrey Moss and wife, Martha, of Pflugerville, Robert Moss of Fort Worth, Brian Moss and wife, Lisa, of Salisbury, Md.; nine grandchildren, Barbara Marie Dierker, Robert Wesley Moss, Christopher Todd Moss, Mathew Taylor Moss, Kimberly Suzanne Moss, Joel Don Pool, Sarah Rebecca Moss, Rachel Elizabeth Moss and Anna Ruth Moss; and one great-grandchild, Damion Anthony Moss.

Stephen “Steve” Bentley Morris, 41, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 after a long illness.
Morris was a painter by trade and served his country for six years in the United States Army. He was known by his free spirit which allowed him to follow his dreams as an Alaskan fisherman on the Bering Sea.
He is survived by his parents, Barbara Lou and William H. Morris Jr. of Weatherford; brothers, Mike Morris and wife, Jan, of Denton and Willy Morris and wife, Jenny, of Weatherford; four nieces and four nephews.

Charlotte Edith McAnally, 84, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008.
McAnally was born on Feb. 14, 1924, in Dawson, N.M. and was a member of the Aledo Christian Center.
Survivors include her husband, Robert McAnally; sons, Dickie D. McAnally and his wife, Janell, and Billy J. McAnally; daughters, Scarlette Y. Sullivan and her husband, Jerry, and Sharon A. Lewis; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Nevy Carpenter, Nancy Culver and Dorothea Nelson and husband, Don; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen Lee Etta Edwards, 93, died at Veranda Place on Friday, May 23, 2008.
Helen was born on August 30, 1914, in Springfield, Mo., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cain. She was raised in El Dorado, Kan., where she graduated from high school and worked in the city’s only drug store.
Following marriage in 1940 to O. Dean Edwards, they traveled five years for the Joe R. Horrigan Pipeline Construction Company throughout the Midwest and eastern United States.
