Ladycats, Bearcats playoff games set; Wallace earns trip to state

It has been a successful weekend for Aledo High School athletics.

The Bearcats won the District 6-4A championship with a 42-7 win over Birdville Friday night to complete a 10-0 season; the Ladycats advanced to the regional quarterfinals in volleyball with a win Thursday night over Stephenville; and on Saturday in Lubbock, Aledo senior runner Ken Wallace posted a time of 15:57 to place ninth at the Region I cross country meet which qualifies Wallace for the state meet at Round Rock.

The Ladycats' regional quaterfinal match will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, against Mansfield Legacy at Colleyville Heritage High School.

The Bearcats will face Lake Dallas in the Class 4A bi-district playoffs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Northwest ISD Texan Stadium. Pre-sale tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students. All tickets at the gate will be $8.

Wallace will run in the Class 4A state meet at 12:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Old Settler's Park in Round Rock.
