Ladycats fall at Carroll

By Tony Eierdam

Aledo head volleyball coach Kathy Goings is looking at the big picture, so she wasn’t too concerned with the Ladycats 25-22, 25-11, 25-14, loss to Southlake Carroll Tuesday night at the Carroll High School gym.
The loss drops the state-ranked No. 6 Ladycats to 13-5.

The Ladycats are experimenting with a two-setter offense, and Goings used the Carroll match and will do the same in this weekend's Frisco tournament to see how the Ladycats respond.

Senior hitter Allie Bettinger led the Ladycats at the net with seven kills, with junior setter Tara Gough adding six stoppers. Senior hitter Abby Tomas recorded five kills, with senior hitter Blaire Fowler adding four.

The Ladycats will play this weekend at the Frisco Tournament. AHS will start the tournament with matches at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
