Brown appointed to fill council vacancy

by Erin Cooper
The Willow Park city council now has a new individual providing input and making decisions at its monthly meetings.
Barry Brown was appointed to the Place 5 council vacancy at a special meeting last Monday, Jan. 14. Due to his experience as former chairman of the planning and zoning board, council members Barry Tatum and Hale Alderman approached him to fill the opening.
“I previously served as chairman of the planning and zoning commission and under my leadership we accomplished a lot,” Brown said. “They were looking for someone who had experience, knowledge and background with the city to be able to fill the vacancy.”
Brown plans to incorporate his knowledge and background from the planning and zoning commission into his place on the council.
