Businesses sponsor new exit ramp

New development to begin phase one in near future

Hudson Oaks citizens, or those passing through, will have an extra option for exiting Interstate-20 in the future.
Several businesses and development companies has joined forces to make it a possibility for people to have direct access to the car dealerships and shopping centers west of Lakeshore Drive.
The exit ramp will be located just east of the current Lakeshore Drive bridge, according to city administrator Robert Hanna.

Tax Notes Update

The Hudson Oaks city council adopted an ordinance at a special city council meeting last Tuesday, Feb. 5 to issue tax notes in the amount of $1.8 million dollars.
Bank of America approved the loan at an interest rate of 3.176 percent.
The city will have the option to pay off the loan without penalty any time after 2011.


City approves funding increase for park, city hall

Finances still in good shape

Although it will cost more, the city of Hudson Oaks will soon have a new city hall and a city park.
After a lengthy discussion at its regular monthly city council meeting, the council unanimously approved to authorize the city administrator to secure financing for the construction of the project.
The funding for the project was originally brought before the council last November. At that time, the council authorized city administrator Robert Hanna to execute an agreement with Speed-Fabcrete and Callahan and Freeman for the construction project to begin.

Hudson Oaks, Annetta North to discuss merger options

The city councils of Hudson Oaks and Annetta North will meet jointly this Thursday, Sept. 6 to continue discussions about potential merging of the cities and other issues pertaining to cooperation between the two entities.
