Hudson Oaks, Annetta North to discuss merger options

The city councils of Hudson Oaks and Annetta North will meet jointly this Thursday, Sept. 6 to continue discussions about potential merging of the cities and other issues pertaining to cooperation between the two entities.

The public is invited to attend the meeting , which will be held at 7 p.m. at Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church.

Three men rescue woman and grandson from high water

Shirley Hutton had just passed through the water not but five minutes ago. It was early Monday evening and it had just begun to storm. As she came back to take her grandson home on the road she had just passed through, she didn’t realize the water over Jenkins Road had gotten higher. By the time she knew her Ford van wasn’t going to make it, that the water had gotten too high in a short time, it was too late.

High concentration of sodium found in Annetta North well

Could be anomaly; analysis underway

A private water well recently drilled to the Trinity Aquifer along Jenkins Road in Annetta North was found to have a high concentration of sodium, a potentially troubling development to homeowners, farmers and businesses in the area.
However, it could just be an anomaly.

Willow Park rebukes Deer Creek purchase offer

Calls city’s acquisition of water system ‘complete’

The City of Willow Park added a new wrinkle to the battle over Deer Creek Water Works (DCWW) this week, adopting a policy statement during the council meeting Tuesday, May 15 that rejects an offer made to purchase the embattled water system.
After a 24-minute executive session, departing Mayor Brad Johnson read a prepared statement about the issue detailing the city’s stance.

Hudson Oaks to cosign Deer Creek purchase contract

Deal may now be agreeable

A new development emerged in the seemingly endless story about Deer Creek Water Works (DCWW) this week, placing the matter back into Willow Park’s hands.
In hopes of ending a delay in progress to discussions and finalizing an agreement, Hudson Oaks held a special council meeting Monday, April 16 and agreed to cosign the contract for Parker County Utility District No. 1 (PCUD) to purchase the embattled water system from Willow Park.

Focus of merger talks adjusted

May 3 workshop off

Consolidation talks between Annetta, Annetta North, Annetta South and Hudson Oaks took a different turn this week as discussions have been revamped and could now focus on two separate mergers between the four east Parker County municipalities.
Future discussions are likely to focus on the possibility of a merge between Hudson Oaks and Annetta North and a merge between Annetta and Annetta South.

Hudson Oaks agrees to second consolidation workshop
